As I continue to explore the reverse machine appliqué method, the Moth Fairy will stand out as a bridge quilt. Earlier work had used tulle only, or cottons only. This is the first time that I worked with loose layers of tulle on top of the cottons. I found it gave me more control and more options than either method alone. This is also the first time I used tulle to influence the color and construction of the border. I don't know why, but I took a lot of pleasure in disguising the seam lines, both at the corners, and as I joined other sections of the orange border.
The tulle and the overall splotchiness of the fabric allowed me to fuse on additional patches, which when covered by the tulle, almost completely discuses the joints. There's probably a mental health warning in there somewhere.
